Application service provider USi (usi.com), a subsidiary of AT&T (att.com),
announced on Tuesday it has acquired IBM WebSphere commerce consultant Daniel
IT (danielit.com) for an undisclosed amount.

The combination of the companies creates a comprehensive, end-to-end solution
for implementing, integrating, hosting and managing the WebSphere Commerce
application, says USi. The company says that with the acquisition, it
reinforces USi’s commitment to working with the IBM WebSphere family of
products and expands its existing WebSphere Commerce practice.

“This acquisition strengthens USi’s WebSphere Commerce capabilities allowing us
to offer enterprise clients a robust, single source of delivery for WebSphere
Commerce managed and professional services,” says Curtis Hampshire, USi’s
general manager, eBusiness. “Daniel IT has built a reputation for designing,
developing, and providing innovative eBusiness solutions. And like USi, their
culture focuses on delivering superb client service and enhanced business value
to their clients.”

Rhett Daniel, president of Daniel IT, will join USi as senior director of
WebSphere Commerce to lead the expanded practice. In addition, USi says it
expects to retain Daniel IT’s staff and offices in Madison, Alabama.
