FPL FiberNet Selects Infinera

Digital optical network provider Infinera (infinera.com) recently announced it has been selected by fiber optic network solutions provider FPL FiberNet (fplfibernet.com) for its regional optical network in Florida.

The company says the Infinera DTN will bring the benefits of digital optical networking to the fast-growing Florida market, a key connection point between the North American market and the Caribbean and Latin American markets.

FPL FiberNet says it chose Infinera because the Infinera digital optical networking system provides a scalable solution with the capability to add services and wavelengths quickly and economically. With its architecture based on photonic integration, the Infinera system is designed to be easy to install and provision without requiring a heavy investment in highly-skilled engineering staff, says the company.

“FPL FiberNet is an innovative, forward-looking service provider and we are delighted to be working with them as they implement more powerful networking solutions to serve their Florida customers,” says Infinera CEO Jagdeep Singh.
